The k series motors that ive seen so far for sale are really not that much more than a b18. Maybe 2 door dings on the whole car and one small scratch on front bumper. . Btw thank u blanco and brutab83 for everything so far. Available only as a targa top convertible, the Del Sol managed to breath some fun and a little excitement into the Honda lineup before its own demise in 1997. Only selling due to no time to play with it. Great little car and plenty fun with the top off.
All services were done at the dealer with some documents showing so that come with. As for the K-series swaps, lots of people are putting those in their Civics nowadays. I'm guessing you bought the car with the turbo kit on it already? If you can decipher that your engine is a 1. Either that, or you pay a shop to take care of every single aspect of your car? The Si engine also received a very minor power gain. How long it will last depends on what kind of shape the motor is in, and how well it's tuned once you apply boost.
Hey im a nuub to the hondaswap. I have not and you probably will not see another nicer factory paint del sol. I want to get the best for my car. Is the price that significant to where im just lookin at the wrong sites. Has probably installed originally by dealer chrome around wheel wells that is 90' s cool but could be easily removed or painted black if wanted. Very very very clean, especially for milano red and being that it is all, i repeat all original paint.
Yes i did not know what engine i had. Runs like new, drives like new, has not 1 issue needing fixed. If the clearance issues were that bad nobody would be doing it. Comes with original keys with classic honda colorado key chain and owners manual with warranty info packet and in original classic honda case. It was offered in two trims.
Clean title, no accidents currently at 166,881 but I drive it on weekends. Just a awesome really rare car. If your looking for a collector grade del sol here it is. I am the third owner, the previous owner had it since 1999. And yes, they are expensive, but then again, to build up a B16 to K20A2 or K20Z power levels is going to take bank anyway, so I guess it kind of depends on how you want to go about it.
Working Factory honda radio still there as well, not one modification was done. A victim of questionable reliability and poor sales, it would ride off into the sunset. Rumors persisted about poor quality, and the early leaking roofs and faulty auxillary lighting the bulbs burned out too quickly , hurt sales. The only options on both models were a rear spoiler and floor mats. When i purchased it this last year, i received the original title from the dealership with a date of 1993 and original msrp etc.
Unfortunately, the Civic Del Sol didn't really offer that much of a performance boost and the targa top was prone to leaks and noise. If boosting though will be bad for the b18 then i might change my mind really quick. Also has a believed to be factory original but i have never seen another one, del sol vtec rainbow pin stripe down both sides of the car. The B18C5 is a nice engine, but if you're going to turbo I'd probably skip it. That's where the cost adds up. I know there are all different types of b18's but which one would u prefer. Im a young kid just trying to learn about everything and what will be best for my car.
Still has spare tire never mounted and factory jack etc. Recent service by Kuni honda, brand new tires less than 500 miles on them, brand new exhaust same time. Is that a good deal. The base engine in the S model was increased to 1. The H22 really isn't that much heavier. Sorry if this is in the wrong thread im a nuub to the website also. I purchased the car from the sister of the original owner as part of a estate sale after his passing.
Has a car cover and straps that come with it. New refinements included a trunk release latch added near the driver side seat, a low fuel indicator light was added, and new seat materials were used. I do however agree with stock98ekcoupe the k-series are way to expensive and are not worth the price. The compression on that motor is pretty high. Im a nuub to everything i admitted. The car leaks no oil and runs very strong. You also have to buy an expensive mount kit, custom axles, some kind of engine management probably K-Pro , plus you'll need to do a bit of hacking and fabricating.
