We learned about the S60 all along the way. Unfortunately no sporty paddle shifters on this Inscription trim but they are available on the R-Design trim. Its sharp lines give it a sporty look. The back seat looks tighter from the outside than it actually is when you get in, thanks to good contouring for adults, and outboard positions that are 'scooped in' somewhat. Heated rear seats are even offered on T5 models. The S60 is a little heavier than it looks, yet it's nimble enough for hairpins and maneuverable enough for tight city streets.
As our driver slowed to investigate, the entire cluster went Vegas and the engine shut down. The base front-drive S80 3. The starchier suspension leads to pretty good body motion control -- the car rides bumps without tossing the driver; your butt is able to read and predict roll progression; and torque vectoring means you can pick up the throttle early in the corner. We waved goodbye to our S60 with mixed emotions. There is also a 300-horsepower, turbocharged six-cylinder available for standard T6 models, as well as a 325-hp version for the T6 R-Design I tested. It seemed excessive and a bit annoying. Just below is a new chin spoiler and a very lightly fashioned decklid spoiler to add increased downforce.
You'll want to know that the S60 backseat is one of the most accommodating in the segment for three passengers. I put the car seat in the back — no troubles there — and me and my large son were ready to run some errands. While the 2019 Volvo V60 is basically a smaller version of the V90, it stands on its own because of that smaller size. Now standard is a sport mode, and automatic rain-sensing wipers and headlight washers. His first book, , was published by Reedy Press in 2016.

At least a badge can be ordered through Volvo's accessories department. Our opinions and criticism remain our own — we do not accept sponsored editorial. This gives shorter, faster fluid flow, which in turn means the damper responds more quickly.
Also new for 2013 is a retuned version of the base turbo five, with a higher compression ratio and peak turbo boost raised 15 percent. Volvo has a very strong reputation for safety, and the S60 carries on that tradition--especially when you consider the impressive array of electronic assists and both active and passive safety features. The front seats offer easy entry and comfortable support, though gripes also infiltrated the logbook: headrests tilt a bit too far forward, not enough lateral support to brace thighs during aggressive cornering. I had no issues with inclines, and the all-wheel-drive V60 was effortless as it passed folks spinning their wheels in parking lots. This offers 115bhp and 270Nm of torque and makes the trip from standstill to 62mph in 11. The backseat was also surprisingly comfortable and had a bit more room than others in this segment. That was evident on the road, too.
This service will be performed free of charge. Nevertheless, I am more than satisfied, as vibration and noise are not a matter with petrol. For the most part, the 2013 Volvo S60 models deliver on the performance they suggest with their aggressive styling. The diesels range from the 215bhp 2. My only complaint though is the noise of the engine. In addition to all the expected safety features--such as front, side, and side-curtain airbags; anti-lock brakes; and stability and traction control--what sets the S60 apart is its safety technology. All of which takes its toll of course, when it comes to practicality.
Enthusiasts got a bit excited about the 304bhp T6 model at the top of the range with a 3. Stunning profile and really, good looks from every angle. Speaking of which, the front seats are some of the most comfortable in terms of body position and posture. Factor in the quiet cabin and good ride quality and you have a true luxury-car feel--in all but the R-Design, which picks up more road harshness. The cabin is attractively finished and the fit and finish is top notch. That rubber got us through the slippery months without issue, in part because of the warm winter that Michigan enjoyed this year, although complaints of too much understeer with these tires started popping up in the logbook. The result is improved control and a sportier, road-hugging drive.
Textures, materials, and design are far from ordinary, and the 'floating' center stack of controls pushes the Swedish design ethos into a hipper direction. Volvo's Swedish design ethos really shows inside, where the brand has taken textured surfaces and contrasting hues to a new level. The T5 comes with front- or optional all-wheel drive. Sweden, land of lutefisk, ice hotels and trolls hiding under bridges, is not always at the top of the list when it comes to being a source for grand touring and high performance sport sedans. The little wiggle from the rear end and easy recovery with a dab of countersteer had me grinning as I wandered the abandoned roadways near my house.
Same infotainment screen, same gear selector, same steering wheel, same everything. For 2013 Volvo has added rain-sensor wipers, headlight washers, a tunnel-detection feature for the headlights, and new dual tailpipes for the base T5. At the top of the line-up is the Plug-in Hybrid version, a vanishingly rare find amongst the pre-facelift 2010 to 2013 V60 models we're looking at here as it only arrived right at the end of this period and when it did was frighteningly expensive. It features a blend of black nubuck textile and perforated leather. A flat boot floor to sit above the spare is now optional on S60 models, but Volvo is yet to finalise pricing.
In the rear seat, you get marginally more headroom than you would in an S60 but otherwise, the accommodation on offer is much the same. The outer ring cycles through selections, and one button inside the ring confirms choices and another backs you up if you make a mistake. Toward that end, our car is steeped in the latest, greatest ways to avoid calamity. But back-seat accommodations are surprisingly good for adults, thanks to some smart contouring. At that time, the Swedes didn't see the need for one, pointing out that if the compact V40 wasn't big enough for station wagon buyers, they had the big V70 further up the range to suit. Don't worry; there are still a few standalone options as well.
