This movie had me sit up and take notice three minutes in when it did a mock opening sequence for both Lupin and Conan. The more I think about it, maybe Zenigata's personality is changed due to the fact that he has a competent partner a Conan character in the movie? I look forward to more crossovers between the two series. At the same time the untimely deaths of Queen Sakura and her son, Prince Gill, leave Princess Mira next in succession to the throne. Smithee and Carnevale attempt to escape by plane, but Lupin boards the craft, and he and Conan prepare to take down Smithee for good. But hey, you want gritty? I'd describe it as fluffier than many Disney movies. Lupin and his gang over the years have gotten more family friendly and this definitely falls in that vein.
